XIX a. antrosios pusės ir XX a. pirmosios pusės gintaro pramonės atspindžiai Palangos gintaro muziejaus rinkinyje

LTBaltijos jūros ir Kuršių marių pakrančių gyventojų kasdienybė neįsivaizduojama be gintaro gavybos ir jo apdirbimo. Kalbėdami iš dabartinės vakarų Lietuvos teritorijos ir laiko perspektyvų, galime atsigręžti į daugiau nei 6 000 metų gintaro apdirbimo istoriją. Šis ilgas istorinis tarpsnis apima ir XIX a. viduryje Palangoje pagyvėjusį gintaro apdirbimą, prekybą gintaro gaminiais bei Kuršių mariose pradėtą pirmąją pramoninę gintaro gavybą, kuri vykdoma iki šiol, tik kiek kitoje vietoje – senuosiuose Palmininkuose (dabartiniame Jantarne, Kaliningrado srityje). Straipsnio tikslas – pristatyti XIX a. antroje pusėje lietuviškajame pajūryje prasidėjusią gintaro apdirbimo tradiciją, apžvelgti Kuršių mariose vykdytą pramoninę gintaro gavybą, atskleisti po Antrojo pasaulinio karo pasikeitusias gintaro dirbinių gamybos tendencijas, atsiradusias naujoves. Ši istorinio tarpsnio apžvalga iliustruojama Palangos gintaro muziejuje saugomais gintaro dirbinių pavyzdžiais, kurių vadinamajame Senųjų dirbtuvių rinkinyje sukaupta per 300 eksponatų. ENThe article introduces the tradition of amber processing which commenced in the second half of the 19th century in Lithuanian seaside, industrial amber excavation in Curonian Lagoon is reviewed, the tendencies of production of amber items that changed after World War II and the occurred novelties are revealed. The review of this historical period is illustrated with the samples of amber items stored in Palanga Amber Museum. Over 300 exhibits are accumulated in so-called Old Workshop Collection. The industry of amber in Lithuania that started to develop in the second half of the 19th century accelerated only in the first half of the 20th century. The impetus was given by craftsmen from Palanga and Kretinga, the majority of whom were the Jews who developed the amber processing in separate families. The most popular items in the amber workshops were rosaries, various crosses made of glued amber mosaic. The relief moulds of religious theme were fastened on glued amber plates of different geometric shapes. Amber necklaces were also produced, and the items for smoking were also in great demand. The amber items of the period described in the article had a quite high economic value and often reflected national features. Palanga Amber Museum presents a large collection of amber items of the end of the 19th century – the beginning of the 20th century, which reflects the essential types of amber production and stylistic forms of the analysed period.
