Summary / Abstract:

LTStraipsnyje pateikiamos verslo procesų valdymo sampratos ir verslo procesų valdymo tobulinimą sąlygojančių veiksnių teorinės įžvalgos, akcentuojama verslo procesų valdymo tobulinimo praktinė nauda ir aktualijos. Empirinio tyrimo tikslas - nustatyti Vilniaus regione veiklą vykdančių smulkaus ir vidutinio verslo įmonės verslo procesų valdymo tobulinimą lemiančius veiksnius. Tyrimo metu gauti anketinės apklausos ir interviu su verslo konsultantu rezultatai neprieštarauja vieni kitiems. Gautos įžvalgos leidžia konstatuoti pagrindinius veiksnius, kurie lemia verslo procesų valdymo tobulinimą: įmonės darbuotojų skaičius, įmonės veiklos sritis, konkurencinė aplinka, įmonės vadovų/savininkų požiūris, įmonės politika ir veiklos plėtra. Tyrimo metu buvo nustatyti ne tik veiksniai, sąlygojantys verslo procesų valdymo tobulinimą, bet ir priežastys, ribojančios verslo procesų valdymo tobulinimą. [Iš leidinio]

ENThe purpose of the article is to identify the factors contributing to the business process management improvement in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in the Vilnius Region. The analytical part of the article presents an overview and analysis of national and international scientific publications on the topic, defines the concepts of the business process management, gives the theoretical insights into the factors contributing to the of business process management improvement, and emphasises practical benefits the business process management improvement. A quantitative method (by distributing questionnaires to the SMEs operating in the Vilnius Region) and a qualitative method (by conducting the interview with a business consultant) were used to achieve the purpose. The information retrieved from the questionnaires and the interview does not seem to be in conflict. The results of the survey show that the critical factors contributing to the improvement of business process management are as follows: the competitive environment, CEO’s/owner’s approach, business development, low productivity and efficiency.The acquisition of software, installation of e-based systems, conducting of specialised training, improvement of corporate culture and introduction of business management methodologies have been identified as the basic tools for improving the business process management. Noteworthy that the business process management improvement within the SMEs lead to a number of benefits such as the increased productivity and efficiency, the improved product/service quality, the simplified process management and co-ordination. Moreover, the improvement of the business process management slightly correlates with the decrease in the number of employees within an enterprise. The survey has revealed not only the factors contributing to the improvement of business process management but also identified the circumstances that might preclude the improvement of business process management.
