ENOrganizational parameters of the professional development of navy officers in terms of training junior officers within the NATO defense mission are identified in the article. Methods of scientific literature analysis, document analysis, comparison and synthesis were applied in the research. The professional development of Lithuanian junior navy officers in terms of its organization is being discussed. The role of the Royal Danish Defence College and United States Naval Academy in organization of the professional development of navy officers is characterized. This theoretically descriptive study is methodologically based on the principles of cognitive psychology. Lithuanian naval forces purposefully collaborate with foreign partners characterized by deep traditions of the professional naval training at the academic and naval level in terms of the NATO procedures. Study programmes of the Royal Danish Defence College proportionally provide professional training of both the future navigator and combat unit commander. United States Naval Academy is working like a civilian academy. The great attention there is paid to civilian study subjects. The professional development of navy officers is organized in accordance with the strict requirements of military discipline, behavioral norms, and in particular of obedience, and support for their comrades.
