LTStraipsnyje pristatoma ir nagrinėjama architekto ir kraštovaizdžio architekto dr. Liucijaus Alberto Dringelio (g. 1931) veikla ir kūryba. Jo idėjos ir architektūrinės tradicijos plėtotė puikiai iliustruoja moderniosios ir postmoderniosios architektūros, ypač rekreacinės architektūros, raidą Lietuvoje. Straipsnyje akcentuojami kraštovaizdžio architektūros ir rekreacinės architektūros objektų kūrimo, urbanistinio planavimo aspektai, plati architekto mokslinė ir metodinė veikla, kuri buvo ir išlieka reikšminga ir novatoriška tolesnei Lietuvos kraštovaizdžio architektūros raidai. ENArchitect and landscape architect dr. Liucijus Dringelis was born in 1931 in Varėna town. He is a graduate of Kaunas University of Technology in 1956. Project of construction of the Campus of Lithuanian Agriculture Academy near Kaunas in the beginning of 1960 was the first important and developed project by L. Dringelis and his co-authors. Lazdijai urban park project (1962) was the first serious work in the landscape architecture and creating green space areas for the tandem of collaborators: architect L. Dringelis and dendrologist, landscape architect Regimantas Pilkauskas. The project was exhibited in Moscow, in the Exhibition of Economy Achievements in 1963, and its creators were awarded silver and bronze medals. Irrespective of these achievements, the authors understood that while creating green spaces they should seek for a more generalized view by choosing the main plants which create the image of the green space and supplementary plants which provide additional enriching views. The project of management and landscaping of the territory and its four zones of the Campus of Lithuanian Agriculture Academy was developed by L. Dringelis and R. Pilkauskas in 1965. This project was also exhibited in Moscow in 1968, and its authors were awarded bronze medals of the Exhibition of Economy Achievements. Since 1965, L. Dringelis has been engaged in scientific activities. He was actively involved in the theme of health, therapeutic physical culture and climate therapy parks, as well as projects for the construction and installation of sanatoriums and resorts. His list of works includes projects of resort infrastructure buildings and parks in Druskininkai (1969) and Palanga (1972). Architect and urbanist L. Dringelis formed the theory and methodology of medical parks (1977–1980); on this subject in 1983 he defended his doctoral dissertation in humanities.Kaunas War Museum Garden reconstruction project (1992), Rietavas town centre management project (2002), multifunctional entertainment, sports and recreation park complex project in Pakruojis district (2012) – these are the L. Dringelis’ projects of the last decades. After 2010 he and his team prepared, published and presented to the public a large-scale scientific study “Identification and Preservation of the Spatial Structure of Lithuanian Cities, Towns and Villages” (2015). During this period, he began to evaluate the reconstructions and renovations works in Lithuanian towns. The researcher and his colleagues focused on the towns, which number 249 in Lithuania and are local administrative and cultural centres (eldership centre, school, other institutions, church) and rural areas (20,940); namely the spatial structure of towns and rural areas, the management of public spaces determine the expression and peculiarities and features of the Lithuanian landscape.
