LTStraipsnyje pateikiamas darnumo principų įgyvendinimo procesus veikiančių socialinės aplinkos vertybinių nuostatų poveikio tendencijas atskleidžiantis teorinis tyrimas. Jis grindžiamas nepakankamu darnumo principų įgyvendinimo tendencijų ir socialinėje aplinkoje esamų vertybinių nuostatų poveikio šiems procesams suvokimu institucinės veiklos valdymo lygmeniu. ENThe relevance of the subject and the scientific problem: international changes in economic activities based on principles of sustainable development have been taking place constantly. The impact of provisions of the social environment on these processes, as well as the intensity of tendencies in their implementation, is evident and significant. After all, the acceptability of the ideology of sustainable development and the efficiency of its implementation at a national level also depend on provisions prevailing in the social environment. Only in a social environment where favourable values for sustainable development prevail may a complete social development direction, based on principles of sustainability, exist in all areas. The timely and accurate understanding of the impact of provisions of the social environment and aspects of their formation will enable the confident exploitation of the potential of sustainable development at the national institutional level, which would affect directly the general movement of social development in all areas. For this purpose, aspects of the impact of provisions prevailing in the social environment on the general direction of social development are revealed, as well as aspects of the principles of possibilities for the formation of provisions in this environment. In addition, the practical impact of these provisions, which is related to processes of the implementation of the development goals of the principles of sustainability at a national level, is also analysed. Methods: the comparative analysis of scientific literature and publications, systematisation and synthesis, research of legal documents, generalisation and evaluation.Research results: the development of processes of implementation of principles of sustainability is directly influenced by provisions prevailing in the social environment. However, the intensity of these processes in all areas of social activity also depends on whether or not these provisions are acceptable to the philosophy of sustainable development. While developing the acceptability of favourable provisions for the development of the principles of sustainability in the social environment, it is reasonable to rely on the selected methodological set of actions and measures influencing provisions in this environment in the required direction effectively. Principles of the formation of values and ethical provisions in the social environment that are acceptable to the development of the principles of sustainability should be implemented according to moderate means of public governance at the institutional level. Coordinated and precise activities, such as the concentration of financial resources, information dissemination and human resources towards a targeted set of actions are needed, to enable the development of the social environment to be influenced effectively and in the right direction. The direct impact of provisions prevailing in the social environment on processes of implementation in the development of principles of sustainability at a practical level is evident. Properly functioning institutions, seeking to implement the objectives effectively, should influence the provisions of the social environment directly, by increasing the acceptability of these provisions for their own goals; whereas, in the social environment, the favourability of provisions of values towards the intended objectives provides the most favourable conditions for effective institutional processes.
