ENThe study of lexical constructs and their components in the language of the learners could provide information on their lexical competence as well as their ability to use words consistently in a text. The main objective is based on the qualitative and quantitative analysis of adjectives within the noun phrase in the final written examination of Lithuanian learners in FLE. The choice of the NP is motivated, in the first place, by the fact that it is one of the fundamental constituents of the vast majority of declarative sentences. In addition, this type of phrase is distinguished by its frequent use in the learners’ language of the analysed level. The NP is also seen as a unit that generally reveals the language skills of the learners and offers an opportunity to identify and explain the particularities of their language. The paper analyses the acquisition of syntactical and morphological properties of NP adjectives. We will present an overview of NP adjectives, a description of their characteristic features as well as the main grammatical and lexical difficulties associated with their use. The analysis is based on data from the Lithuanian Learners’ Annotated Corpus (LPRATT), produced as part of the author’s PhD thesis (Kazlauskienė, 2018). [From the publication]
