Adult learning initiatives for civil society

LTŠiuolaikinė pilietybės koncepcija apima tiek istoriškai svarbias problemas, būtent teises ir pareigas bei pusiausvyrą tarp jų, tiek nesenai pradėtus giliau svarstyti klausimus, būtent pusiausvyrą tarp atsakomybės tautiniu ir tarptautiniu lygiu. Straipsnyje nagrinėjama ši problema, taip pat aptariami požymiai, leidžiantys šiuolaikinę visuomenę vadinti pilietine, bei pateikiami tyrimo, atlikto siekiant nustatyti, kokias papildomas reikšmes žmonės šiandien suteikia pilietybei, rezultatai. ENThe contemporary concept of citizenship involves both historically valid issues, namely rights and duties and the balance between the two, and issues that have started to be discussed in greater depth just recently, namely the balance between responsibilities at national and international levels. This problem is addressed in this paper together with discussion of indicators that enable a contemporary society to be called a civil society, and of the results of a study completed in order to highlight what connotations people associate with citizenship today.
