Summary / Abstract:

ENThe authors of the article, who are native speakers of the Russian and Ukrainian languages, and in the initial stages of mastering the Lithuanian language in courses in different groups independently, used the principle of ethnocentrism to establish shared and different features of the studied language with their native language. Being motivated to learn the vocabulary of the Lithuanian language quickly and successfully, our attention focused on the auditory perception of Lithuanian speech, both in classes under the guidance of a teacher and outside the classroom on the streets of Lithuanian cities, as well as by listening to radio broadcasts and watching news on the Internet. The individual conscious work on the study of the vocabulary of the Lithuanian language was based on two methods. The method of analogy made it possible to identify the sound and the semantic correspondence for the lexical fund of the Lithuanian, Russian and Ukrainian languages, making the unfamiliar familiar. The method of association turned out to be convenient from the point of view of the individual approach and the need to think freely, to develop phonemic hearing and gain reflexive knowledge. The use of self-observation data by competent speakers of East Slavic languages, linguists of different ages, and professional training in the dynamics of their mastery of the Lithuanian language, will undoubtedly be helpful for Lithuanian language teachers who work with multinational groups.
