LTStraipsnyje supažindinama su profesinio pasirinkimo motyvacijos samprata, teoriškai pagrindžiami jos formavimuisi bei kuriant jos modelį turintys įtakos vidiniai ir išoriniai veiksniai. Profesinio pasirinkimo motyvacija apibrėžiama kaip dinamiška hierarchinė struktūra, kurioje profesijos pasirinkimo motyvai pasiskirsto pagal tris dimensijas. Analizuojama profesinio pasirinkimo motyvacijos įtaka pasirenkant socioedukacines specialybes, pabrėžiamas šios profesinės veiklos išskirtinumas kintamos visuomenės kontekste. Baltarusijos, Lietuvos ir Švedijos universitetuose atlikto tarpkultūrinio tyrimo rezultatai atskleidžia, kokie profesinio pasirinkimo motyvai vyrauja skirtinguose sociokultūriniuose kontekstuose. ENThe importance of professional motivation in the process of choosing social-educational work is analysed, stressing the exception of social work as occupation within the context of dynamic society. The article presents the concept of professional motivation. The influence of personal and socio-cultural factors on the formation of the professional motivation is analysed and the structural model is presented. Results of the transcultural research on professional motivation are presented and some tendencies of motives why people choose social-educational work as occupation in Belarus, Lithuania and Sweden are discussed. The statistical analysis of the data revealed dependence of professional motive on the socio-cultural factors in choosing university studies in social-educational profession. The results indicated that Belarusian students showed a disposition to human-oriented goals, in Sweden sample there was a predominance of external achievements that are typical of modern Western society and in Lithuania there is no significant difference between human-oriented and self-realisation goals, which can be explained as a sign of a shift in values in a changing society.
