LTStraipsnyje siekiama atskleisti svarbiausius slaugytojos veiklos kokybę pacientų požiūriu nusakančius kriterijus. Tyrimo empirinį pagrindą sudaro 30 pusiaus struktūruotų interviu su skirtingose gydymo įstaigose begydžiusiais pacientais. Tyrimo imtis sudaryta patogiosios atrankos būdu, tiriamųjų amžius svyravo nuo 22 iki 84 m. Išryškėjo, jog pacientų lūkesčiai dėl slaugytojų veiklos kokybės yra susiję su slaugytojų bendravimu, asmeninėmis savybėmis, kvalifikacija, kompetencija, etika ir tarpusavio santykiais. Pacientų požiūriu, bendravimas tampa kokybiškas, jei jis yra malonus, nuoširdus, atviras, supratingas, ne niekinantis, pacientas yra išklausomas, atsižvelgiama į jo kultūrą, religiją ir rasę. Etine prasme pacientas nori gauti slaugytojos pagarbą, dėmesį, atjautą, paslaugumą ir paguodą bei konfidencialumą. Asmeninės slaugytojo savybės: abejingumas, nuoširdumas, dėmesingumas, švelnumas, atsakingumas, bendravimas, rūpestingumas, tvarkingumas ir šypsena veide padeda užtikrinti kokybišką slaugytojos veiklą ir pasitikėjimą juo. Slaugytojos kvalifikaciją ir kompetenciją atspindi jų profesionalumas, darbo patirtis, puikūs praktiniai įgūdžiai ir teorinės žinios, greita orientacija ir savarankiškumas, draugiškų komandos santykių palaikymas ir gebėjimas dirbti komandoje. ENThe challenge for health organizations is to provide the high level of service that the client wants and expects during each visit. The quality of nursing, as part of the quality of the hospital, is a particularly important feature of the assessment of the quality of health services, reflecting the overall level of quality of the health care institution. Clearly, healthcare providers need to know how patients perceive the quality of healthcare they receive. Nurse is a key element in the patient’s perception of hospitalization and nursing quality. If healthcare providers understand the criteria used by patients to assess the quality of nurses‘ activities and care, measures can be taken to monitor and improve the effectiveness of these assessed characteristics and to address problems.It is difficult to find a set of criteria that fully matches the quality of the nurse’s performance, so the patient’s attitude and expectations remain important evaluation criteria. The research problem is formulated by the question: what criteria, from the patients ‚point of view, can be used to define the quality of nurses‘ service? The aim of this article is to reveal the quality criteria of nurses ‚service from the patients‘ point of view. The empirical basis of the study consists of 30 semi-structured interviews with patients treated in different treatment facilities. The study was conducted in the period from 2017. December. until 2018 month of January. The sample of the study was formed by convenient selection, the study involved 14 men and 16 women, and the age of the subjects ranged from 22 years up to 84 y.The study revealed that patients‘ expectations regarding the quality of nurses‘ service are related to nurses‘ communication, personal qualities, qualifications, competence, ethics and interpersonal relationships. From the patients‘ point of view, communication becomes quality if it is pleasant, sincere, open, understanding, not contemptuous, the patient is heard, his culture, religion and race are taken into account. In an ethical sense, the patient wants the nurse’s respect, attention, compassion, helpfulness, and comfort and confidentiality. The personal qualities of a nurse: indifference, sincerity, attentiveness, tenderness, responsibility, communication, care, orderliness and a smile on the face help to ensure the quality of the nurse‘s activities and trust in him. The nurse‘s qualifications and competence are reflected in their professionalism, work experience, excellent practical skills and theoretical knowledge, quick orientation and independence, maintaining a friendly team relationship and the ability to work in a team.
