ENThe project Memory of the Tradition of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Treasure Trove of Heritage for the Policy of Lithuania's Eastern Neighbourhood and Communication of the Regions Societies initiated by the Development Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, in continuing the earlier initiatives presents a new publication to the broad public devoted to a famous page in common history of Ukraine, Belarus and Lithuania, which is filled with the family of the Ostrogskis. Coming of Ostrog of Volhynia (Western Ukraine) and genealogically related to the Riurikaičiai, the old dynasty of the Rulers of Kievan Rus, this family became an essential phenomenon of the history of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania that had an impact on the entire life of the state and its capital Vilnius. In this publications the distinguished Ukrainian, Belarusian and Lithuanian historians write about the history of this ducal family, the indelible trace it left in the public and political life of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the most significant moments of its activity.
