Nepilnamečių teisės pažeidėjų rizikos ir apsauginių veiksnių analizė

LTMonografijoje yra pristatoma paauglių delinkventinio elgesio rizikos ir apsauginių veiksnių apžvalga bei tęstinio mokslinio tyrimo rezultatai. Tęstinio tyrimo, kurio metu 9 mėnesius buvo stebimi 189 teismo skirtoje valstybės priežiūroje esantys paaugliai, rezultatai leido atsakyti į keletą klausimų, susijusių su paauglių rizikos ir apsauginių veiksnių svarba delinkventinio elgesio raiškai, naudotų įvertinimo instrumentų charakteristikomis bei praktinio panaudojimo prognozuojant paauglių elgesį ateityje galimybėmis. Remiantis gautais kompleksiniais rezultatais monografijos pabaigoje pateikiamos pagrindinės tyrimo išvados bei paauglių delinkventinio elgesio rizikos įvertinimo priemonių diegimo praktinės rekomendacijos. ENThe monograph “Analysis of Risk and Protective Factors of Juvenile Offenders” presents both theoretical considerations and study results of the research project “Predicting the behavior of delinquent adolescents based on risk and protective factors” carried out in 2017-2020 in Lithuania. The study aimed to assess risk and protective factors, as well as their associations with the occurrence of different forms of delinquent behavior over 9 months in a sample of juvenile offenders. [...] In Chapter 1 “Understanding of adolescent delinquent behavior and its assessment possibilities” I. Laurinaitytė introduces the concept of adolescent delinquent behavior, the diversity, and prevalence of such behavior, and discusses the results of current researches in this area, with particular emphasis on development theories. The risks and protective factors of juveniles’ criminal behavior are analyzed from the ecological systems theory perspective. Finally, the chapter describes the peculiarities of risk assessment of juvenile criminal behavior and presents the currently most widely used risk assessment tools, highlighting the advantages and disadvantages of their use. In Chapter 2 “Methodology of the Study” A. Laurinavičius and V. Klimukienė present methodological aspects of the study. The sociodemographic characteristics of the sample, the rationale for choosing particular instruments, the design of the study, the assessment procedures, and the psychometric characteristics of the instruments are presented in the chapter.In Chapter 3 “Testing Convergent Validity of the START:AV” L. Ustinavičiūtė-Klenauskė and V. Klimukienė analyze the relationships between the Short-Term Assessment of Risk and Treatability: Adolescent Version START:AV and other measures in the samples of juveniles under probation and custody. The results obtained in both samples are consistent with theoretical assumptions and support the convergent validity of the START:AV. In Chapter 4 “Testing the Ability to Predict Adolescents’ Delinquent Behavior” written by A. Laurinavičius and L. Ustinavičiūtė-Klenauskė the analysis of the predictive utility of different measures in the different follow-up periods is presented. The obtained results correspond to the theoretical assumptions. Most of the adolescent characteristics assessed in this study associated with the manifestation of delinquent behavior during the follow-up period. The obtained results showed the advantages and disadvantages of different assessment tools when using them to assess adolescents with behavioral problems and to predict future behavior, as well as substantiated the possibilities of using the START:AV instrument when working with adolescents.In Chapter 5 “Resocialization of convicted adolescents from a specialist perspective” V. Klimukienė discusses the process of adolescent resocialization, which begins with collecting information about adolescents’ psychosocial functioning, assessing their strengths, difficulties, and risks of negative outcomes. The data about the quality and quantity of information available to specialists and the use of correctional interventions are presented and analyzed in the chapter. The need for further research on factors promoting success in resocialization is highlighted. Finally, in Chapter 6 “Recommendations” on a basis of multiple results of the study, all the contributors provide the main conclusions based on the study results and formulate practical recommendations for the implementation of risk assessment tools for adolescents in Lithuania.
