ENLinguistics of the second half of the nineteenth century and beginning of last century was focused on Lithuanian language. It was studied not only in Germany, but also in France, Switzerland, Holland, Norway, Sweden, Russia and Finland as well as Slavic countries where such important linguists as Jaunius, Būga, Jablonskis and other matured. And where Jaunius Grammar and Dictionary of Juška were published and his collected Lithuanian folk songs. It seems like fundamental four volume study on research into Lithuanian language (1980–2010) by Algirdas Sabaliauskas. Sabaliauskas who was a dedicated and ardent scholar of Lithuanian linguistics left a kind of testament while stating that „Problems posed by globalization are not sufficiently studied. Besides linguists should be far more concerned about the fate of Lithuanian language rather than scholarship“. [From the publication]
