ENThe article examines the views of Roger Scruton along with the ideas of other British conservative thinkers usually associated with Scruton's quarterly Salisbury Review. The analysis of the scrutonian perception of mass culture and contemporary academic mores is accompanied by a critical comment on his search for a modern substitution of faith, which Scruton finds in high culture. Anthony O'Heare is seen to have somewhat more convincing views on religion, though his weaknesses in dealing with certain traditional philosophical questions are noted. Robert Grant, Ray Honeyford and Digby Anderson are also introduced to Lithuanian public. All of them are commended for unyielding nonconformist stance in the face of what Valentinavičius believes is an onslaught of the stifling dogma of political correctness. [From the publication]
