ENThe paper deals with the 19th century publications on the creation of parks and gardens. Insights are provided that the models of English planning and mixed planning parks in Lithuanian manors were in line with the tradition and development of European park art. Much attention is paid to the theme of J. Strumillo’s book Northern Gardens, other ancient authors and publications on the artistic principles of park and garden development. [From the publication]
