ENAtonic forms of pronouns is one of the more interesting archaic linguistic phenomena recorded in the old Lithuanian writings. Such forms are often used with stressed words, most often with verbs. More seldom they are used next to adjectives, numerals, nouns, pronouns and non-inflexional parts of speech. Used with verbs, such forms are more often employed as entities, i.e. at the end of the verb, more seldom as prochtics, i.e. between the prefix and the root. With other parts of speech thc mentioned pronouns are almost alvvays used in the enchtic position. The forms of the discussed pronouns are not numerous m the old Lithuanian writings; probably most often they are met in the book Knyga nobažnystės krikščioniškos, representing the middle period of the development of writing. Most often used are both elliptical and non-elliptical atonic forms of first person pronoun m(t), although tins type of constructions with second person pronoun t(t) can also be found. In general it should be pointed out that in the 16-17th c. atonic pronouns in written Lithuanian were already an obsolescent category. This is also proved by such cases of redundant usage when in the same context the long (tome) and atonic forms of personal pronouns are used next to each other. In the long run the discussed atonic forms of pronouns disappeared altogether. Now some relies can be found only in dialects. [From the publication]
