ENThe object of the article research is the interpretation of the subjects and leitmotifs chosen from the particular poetry collection by Sigitas Geda Asleep Teodendron. Interpretation purposely moves apart from the analysis of the poet’s diaries, interviews, outgivings and other data of “intellectual biography”, instead of that the major attention of the author is concentrated towards the material enriched with mythical motives. Undoubtedly the text reflects the certain drafts of late Geda psychological and creative portrait, but only those which are legible on the poetry screen. In other words, his creation is analysed using not biographical method, but exclusively the analysis of artistic text, although the aim of the work is to reconstruct at least by the minor scale the authors motivations, not necessarily conscious ones, which are upheld with the assumption of the poetic work and its authors interface common for both perspectives. It is worth to add that this assumption is problematized in the article distinguishing the “messages” sent by the poetic hero and its author. [From the publication]
