ENMental health nurses perceptions torwards management of distressed and disturbed patients were investigated Psychiatric Hospitals in Lithuania. This study aimed to explore nurses' perceptions of ethical implications of current practice in the management of disturbed and distressed patients in Psychiatric Hospitals and inpatient units in Lithuania. 21 nurses participated in the focus groups interviews in Lithuania. The sample of the study N = 21. Focus group method was selected as an appropriate study design. The broad analytical framework based on the coding data was performed and results of content analysis revealed diverse and different ethical aspects in the management of disturbed and distressed patients in Psychiatric Hospitals and inpatient units in Lithuania. Nurses revealed that there is no strict line of actions in the management of aggressive and disturbed patients and also there is a certain order, but not comprehersive guidelines. Nurses highligtened the assessing risk, safety and the perceptions of actions in management of aggressive patients' behavior. They disclosed using such alternative methods of seclusion or restrain as: special treatment metods, de-escalation method, getting environment right and ensuring individual patient care. Few positive feelings, with predominating negative feelings and thoughts expressed nurses and having experiences to cope with situation they emphasized legal and ethical issues. Nurses hope be supported from immediate superior, more education in multidisciplinary approach, education about seclusion practices and more vocational continuing education. The explored mental nurse's perceptions on management of disressed and disturbed patients will be useful background to update nurse's knowledge and skills in development of continuing mental health nurses' education.
