ENThe study investigates the syntactic structure of constructions with dative and genitive marking of the direct object of the infinitive in Lithuanian. It is argued that these constructions are typologically rather peculiar, their counterparts being attested in the languages of Australia. Diachronically, these Lithuanian constructions are a non-trivial instance of a convergent morphosyntactic development of originally very different structures. [From the publication p. 836]
