ENMany historical documents from 14th-20th centuries Prussia, mostly manuscript texts that previously used to be a part of repositories of archives and libraries of Königsberg, are nowadays kept at the Wróblewski Library of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences as well as at the Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania. They include government decrees, chronicles of Teutonic Order, statute-books, history of regions, churche books, annual reports of estate governors, lists of villages and manors, etc. The manuscript texts present many data for researching Baltic onomastics, i.e. anthroponims and toponyms. The present article sets out to analyse proper names, mostly personal names, found in registration books of the dead of the Kraupiškiai parish of Ragainė district in the years 1730-1733. Of 167 different family names, 112 of them are Lithuanian surnames, which have not undergone Slavic influence and have no Slavic suffixes. The prevailing structural type of the Lithuanian family names have the patronymic suffix -ait-. [From the publication]
