ENThis article analyzes very basic ideas in Bergson’s philosophy of time. It is argued that his philosophy of time does not really contradict the theory of relativity but rather represents a different approach to the same object which is time. Due to this different approach from the position of subjective - psychological understanding of time which is best revealed by the intuition of durėe it uses different language from that of the theory of relativity. Regardless of mistakes and misunderstandings H. Bergson’s project to reconcile these two different points of view is valuable though difficult to achieve. Another point stressed in this article is that a fundamental division between space and time proclaimed by H. Bergson is not that strict. Space and time are reunited in the essence of human being itself because a man is both being in space and time. [From the publication]
