ENThis article constitutes the second part of the theoretical analysis The place and functions of general knowledge in the system of the person’s cognitive qualities. The analysis presented in the article is a constituent element of the diagnostic research the purpose of which is to theoretically and empirically reveal the meaning and possibilities of the diagnostics of general knowledge possessed by the youth and young adults in Lithuania and to develop a theoretical basis for the Test of General Knowledge of the Youth and Young Adults which would correspond to the national socio-cultural conditions.
