ENThe aim of the Article is to find answers to the question of the real impact of digital communication technologies on diplomatic relations and whether this impact requires a change of the existing norms of diplomatic law. General assumptions related to the regulation of cyberspace are reviewed, as the existence of a consensus between states on this issue would have a positive effect on further virtualization of diplomatic relations. The establishment and termination of diplomatic relations by virtual means, the establishment of virtual embassies in the context of diplomatic representation is further assessed. Moreover, the issues of the inviolability of virtual premises and property are discussed, and the peculiarities of digitization of diplomatic functions are analysed. It is concluded that although the impact of digital technologies is obvious in diplomatic relations, still the international legal framework is capable to cover and resolve most of the legal uncertainties.
