ENRegulations of different countries, planning documents assume that urban planning should take into account the need for children's playgrounds and parks suitable for them. Every child must have rights to all of the Lithuanian Constitution laws and other legislation rights and freedoms. Children like any other human being have the right to a safe and healthy living and development environment. The most important and basic requirement for children's playgrounds is their safety. Playground flooring should not be very hard. Instead of concrete, asphalt, gravel, cement coatings it is better to equip grass, rubber, sand foundation on which children will not be hurt. Play and sports apparatus is subject to Europe wide standards and the valid legal regulations of individual countries. Already today, the EU set high standards (LST EN 1176-10:2008) which requires that children's play and sports fields have to apply a rubber coating for attack case. Children's playground is more than just a swing and sandbox – a place where children interact, learn from each other and the environment and learn about their environment, developing their motor skills. Because play is primarily a social experience, routes through a play setting must connect all types of activities. A good play setting has many routes through the space. Most equipment settings stimulate large muscle activity and kinesthetic experience, but they can also support nonphysical aspects of child development. The assessment of the Lithuanian and foreign literature, children's playground design issues and comparison of children's playground design concepts allowed us to say that Lithuania has much to do for children's playgrounds and their safety.
