ENIn the article, the author investigates the issues related to traditions and the development of two-tier Polish-Lithuanian paradigm of patriotism. 'This model of identity had already been formed in the literature of the Great Lithuanian Kingdom, reached its peak in the literature of romanticism, especially, in Adam Mickiewicz works. Evolution of the topos in the XX century took place among dramatic disputes between the two nations; it was characterized by the transformations of tradition and procedures of demythologization. The identity model has manifested itselfindividually in the works of Czesław Miłosza, Tadeusz Konwicki and other outstanding writers associated with Lithuania. [From the publication]
