ENThe activities of Aldona Vladislava Vasiliauskienė, PhD in history and religious studies, is described in the article. Due to historian circumstances, she lived in Skapiškis from an early ager under the guardianship of Canon Nikodemas Kasperiūnas (1872-1896-1956). More than 150 publications have appeared in Lithuanian press about the activities of this public figure and scientist in the Lithuanian media during the period from 1995 to 2018. Here, an attempt is made to review the content of her publicist articles. The following tasks have been raised: to indicate the main fields of activities and interests of Vasiliauskienė, to precisely define the achievements and contribution into the history of science and culture, as well as the relations between the institutions and states (Lithuania-Ukraine). There are three fields of activities distinguished: scientific (1), science popularisation (2), and organisational (3). 1. The reports on scientific subjects have been given, more than 200 papers published in Lithuanian, Ukrainian and Russian scientific magazines, the books and monographs written, publications revised, bibliographies compiled, collections of papers prepared with cooperation. 2. More than 2000 articles have been published in Lithuanian and Ukrainian periodicals. The themes include also the Lithuanian school in Lvov, Lithuanian community Medeina and its summer camps in the Carpathians, Maironis Culture Society of Lithuanians in Kyiv etc. 3. Organisation of anniversary events to remember certain persons and historical dates, planning and implementation of science practical conferences. Often all these three fields join into one combination.Based on the materials stored in the Lithuanian Diocesan Curias, archives of Lithuania and foreign countries as well as the issues by libraries, Vasiliauskienė raised from oblivion more than 200 names of clergymen. Quite a lot of attention is given to priests who served in Skapiškis and Kupiškis or originated from these parishes. Dr. Vasiliauskienė is co-author of eight books in the series "Lietuvos valsčiai". She studies the history of separate churches, searching facts in the archives, checking them and generalising in the papers. Many spheres of public life are covered and reflected in periodicals: Dr. Vasiliauskienė is a member of the Lithuanian Catholic Academy of Science (LKMA) 1990-2015), LKMA chronicler (from 1991), founder and chair of the LKMA History Sciences Section (1992-2007), founder of the Association of Lithuanian and Ukrainian Historians and its president (from 2000), a member of some beatification commissions to perpetuate VIPs for Lithuania. The publications show that she applies her rich experience in preparing documents of people merited to the Church for state decorations. Her papers stressd that the Association of Historians have chosen little addressed themes for their investigations, such as Saint Basil the Great Order, Basilian monks, Lithuanian-Ukrainian historical, cultural and spiritual relations. Her private museum "Pažintis su Ukrainos kultūra" (Acquaintance with Ukrainian culture) devotes much space to the past and the present of the Basilian monks and perpetuation of the name of God's Servant Archbishop Mečislovas Reinys. On Vasiliauskienės initiative, the events had been organised to commemorate Prof. Pranas Dovydaitis, Archbishop Prof. Mečislovas Reinys, Archbishop Juozapas Skvireckas, Bishop Pranciškus Petras Bučas Prof. Rev. Antanas Liuima S./, and many other celebrities. The historian is also attentive to publications of the clergy or about them.Dr. Vasiliauskienė often takes an initiative to invite a certain young priest to take part in the conferences, urges to make a report or prepare a scientific paper. Then they are encouraged to go their way in the academic fields. Although Vasiliauskienė has been out of school for a long time, she shows active interest in Catholic activities in the schools and take part in the events if invited. She donates books and/or albums to some school museums and libraries. Many such donations went to the library in Skapiškis. Also rare editions and art albums published not only in Lithuania and Ukraine, but also in America, have been donated. In this way, the Ukrainistics has been supplemented in the Library of Vilnius University and the Wróblewski Library of the Academy of Sciences of Lithuania. Dr. Vasiliauskienė is attentive to the people of her childhood town of Skapiškis. She wrote much about the folk theatre festivals held here, Skapiškis Children and Youth Theatre Studio Ku-Kū (directed by Vita Vadoklytė), as well as books written by Skapiškis dwellers: Stanislava Mažeikytė, Aliutė Elena Markevičiūtė, Can. Antanas Balaišis. The present article is the first attempt to review scientifically and to detail the activities of Dr. Vasiliauskienė within the context of the evaluation of her works.
