ENLithuanian actress and singer Eugenija Bajorytė-Adomaitienė, born on June 19, 1941 and famous for roles in the movies of the end-1960s is described in the article. In 1949-1960 she went to the secondary school in Skapiškis, Kupiškis District. In 1961 she worked at the Electrical Engineering Plant in Panevėžys, where she also attended the School of Music. From 1962 to 1965 she improved her musical education at the Vilnius Technical School of Music. In 1965-1970 Bajorytė studied at the Lithuanian Conservatoire vocal class led by Juozas Karosas. From 1970, she was the soloist of the Lithuanian Philharmonic. Still being a student, in 1968, Bajorytė played two roles at once: Morta and Jane in Jausmai directed by Almantas Grikevičius and Algirdas Dausa. During the shooting of this film, the actress met her future husband, actor Regimantas Adomaitis and married him after the filming. In 1969, Bajorytė-Adomaitienė starred in another film directed by Grikevičius, i.e., Ave Vita! In 1970, Vytautas Žalakevičius choose her to play in Visa teisybė apie Kolumbą (Everything about Columbus). Eugenija played here Theresa, the wife of Pablo. In 1975, director Raimondas Vabalas invited her to play in the TV movie Smokas ir Mažylis (Smoke and Shorty; original Russian title Smok i Malysli) based on the short stories collection Smoke Bellcw by Jack London. The action is taking place in Dawson, a settlement of gold prospectors. Joy Gastell (E. Bajorytė-Adomaitienė) coming from a poor family read an article about the life of Indians and, thus, she arrived to Dawson.The actress of original beauty embodied in her role the New Age women, strong, forceful, a little self-contained and restrained. In her life she was rather quick-tempered woman. She devoted herself to family, therefore had few roles in the cinema. The choice of Bajorytė-Adomaitienė was such she herself wanted and saw the sense in it. Together with her husband Remigijus Adomaitis they raised three sons Vytautas, Gediminas and Mindaugas.
