Summary / Abstract:

LTŠis monografijos poskyris skirtas žemės ūkio socialinio darnumo interpretacijų nagrinėjimui, toliau pratęsiant žemės ūkio darnumo sampratos išskleidimą (Vitunskienė, Vinciūnienė, 2014) ir atskleidžiant vienos socialinio darnumo subdimensijos – darbo žemės ūkyje ir su juo susijusių kintamųjų tendencijas Lietuvoje. Bus susistemintos ir apibendrintos socialinio darnumo sampratos interpretacijos bei parengtos socialinio darnumo žemės ūkyje operacionalizacijos metmenys, taip pat statistinių duomenų analizės pagrindu bus atskleistos darbo Lietuvos žemės ūkyje vidinio ir išorinio socialinio darnumo tendencijos ilguoju arba vidutinės trukmės laikotarpiais. ENThis research aims to reveal the tendencies of farm labour in achieving social sustainability in Lithuanian agriculture based on social sustainability conceptualization and operationalization interpretations. In the first chapter, interpretations of the concept of social sustainability are systemized and summarized and the outline of operationalization of social sustainability in agriculture is developed. The second part of the chapter presents the results of empirical evaluation of the social dimension of sustainability in Lithuanian agriculture. Agriculture is characterized with high diversity of social processes and phenomena therefore we are faced with the problem of operationalization of social variables and the lack of objective data. As a result, the empirical study of social sustainability state and tendencies in Lithuanian agriculture covers only the issues related to farm labour with regard to internal and external social sustainability. In the context of internal social sustainability, the structure of farm workers is assessed by taking into account their employment status and working time duration, farmers’ and their family members’ level of employment on the farm, relative level of agricultural entrepreneurial income of family farm, the impact of CAP on the farm household income inequality has been evaluated. In the context of external social sustainability, the importance of agriculture on the terms of employment in Lithuania, particularly on the employment of lower-skilled workforce, has been analysed, relative level of earnings of employees has been carried out, and the proportion of the working-age population, which describe agriculture as the main source of livelihood, has been revealed.
