Lithuanian songs of resistance

LTStraipsnyje aptariamos Antrojo pasaulinio karo ir pokario metais gyvavusios pasipriešinimo sovietinei okupacijai dainos. Jų, ne tik meniškai apibendrinusių to žiauraus Lietuvos istorijos laikotarpio išgyvenimus, bet ir užfiksavusių įvairiausius priešinimosi okupaciniam režimui momentus – nuo pasyvaus nepaklusnumo iki ginkluotos kovos, buvo sukurta kaip niekad daug, ir jos tapo neatskiriama lietuvių folklorinės tradicijos dalimi. Straipsnyje apžvelgiamos paskatos, kurios veikė, kad nuolat gausėtų šių dainų. Nustatyta, kad daugiausia jų paskleidė kūrybinga, nepriklausomybės metais išaugusi naujoji inteligentijos karta. Ypač gausiai gyvavo, po visą Lietuvą plito pokario pasipriešinimo dainos. Apžvelgiami jų kūrimo, gyvavimo ir plitimo ypatumai, nusakoma, kaip jos veikusios to meto visuomenės politines nuostatas. Puoselėtoje ir nuo priešų gintoje tėvynėje Lietuvoje įžūliai viešpatauja žiaurūs okupantai – tokia yra daugumos šių dainų mintis. Labiausiai apgailestaujama dėl laisvės praradimo. Apraudami žuvę partizanai... Sunkus trėmimų laikotarpis suformavo naują dainuojamosios tautosakos klodą – tremtinių dainas, išreiškusias nuo tėvynės atskiriamų ir toli nuo jos atsidūrusių žmonių išgyvenimus. Apdainuojamos įvairiausios su trėmimu susijusios situacijos – nuo slėpimosi, kad nebūtum išvežtas, iki prakeiksmo tiems, kas skyrė vergų dalią. Kiek mažiau buvo sukurta politinių kalinių dainų, kupinų laisvės alkio, vilčių grįžti į būsimą laisvą tėvynę. ENThe article discusses the songs of resistance to the Soviet occupation that existed during the Second World War and the post-war years. These songs, which not only provided an artistic outlet to the experiences of that cruel period in the Lithuanian history but also recorded various moments of resistance to the occupation regime – from passive disobedience to armed struggle, were few but they became an integral part of the Lithuanian folklore tradition. The article overviews the reasons that lead to the creation of more of these songs. It was found that most of them were spread by the creative new generation of intelligentsia, which was raised in the years of independence. The post-war resistance songs were particularly abundant and widespread all around Lithuania. The article describes the circumstances of their creation, existence and spread, as well as how they affected the political attitudes of contemporary society. The central idea of most of these songs is that the cherished and defended motherland Lithuania is now impudently trampled by the cruel occupants. The songs decry the loss of freedom and express sorrow for the partisans who perished. The difficult period of deportations formed a new layer of song folklore – the exile songs which expressed the feelings of people who were torn away from the motherland. The songs capture various situations related to deportations – from hiding from deportations to damnations of those who imposed the fate of slaves. There are somewhat fewer songs created by political prisoners that express the hunger for freedom and the hopes for the future return to the free motherland.
