ENThe archival document “Didžiosios Britanijos lietuvių sąjungos Londono I-ojo skyriaus protokolų knyga 1947-1954 m.” (“The Book of Minutes of London’s ist Chapter of the Lithuanian Association in Great Britain”) is a small part of DBLS history. The original of this document was donated to the Lithuanian Emigration by long-time DBLS member Stasys Kasparas. This is a unique text reflecting the details of how London’s ist chapter was organized and what it did until the very end of 1954, including issues surrounding the acquisition of a Lithuanian House in London; support for fellow Lithuanians remaining in Germany; cooperation with the General Lithuanian Relief Fund (BALFas) and the National Foundation (Tautos fondas) in the U. S.; efforts to organize a DBLS Mutual Assistance fund; and support for the acquisition of a proprietary printing house. The document also touches upon the relations between DBLS and the World Lithuanian Community founded in 1949, the chapter’s relations with other Lithuanian societies active in London, and the vexing problem of collecting members’ dues.
