LTTerminija - be abejo, ryškiausias kurios nors specialybės ar profesinės kalbos bruožas. Tačiau terminai nėra uždaryti vien kurios nors mokslo srities tekstuose, o specialybės kalba apima ne vien tik terminus. Žinoma leksikologijos specialistė E. Jakaitienė naujoje savo studijoje pateikia labai platų terminų apibūdinimą: "Terminai yra sąvokų, vartojamų tam tikros žmonių veiklos srities, pavadinimai" [8: 102]. Vadinasi, terminai gali funkcionuoti nebūtinai kurio nors mokslo, technikos ar kituose specialiuose darbuose - jų galima aptikti ir publicistikos straipsniuose, ir net šnekamojoje kalboje (plg. plačiau paplitusius kompiuterijos terminus: internetas, laikmena, tinklalapis, svetainė ir kt.). ENThe most salient feature of the special language is the terminology of that field (i.e. the branch of science, specialty). However the special language is not oncerned simply about the terms, and therefore the different terms make for the media increasingly or gain access even to the spoken language. The compound structure of the terms and the syntactic types shows already that the problems related to the terms belong not only to lexicology but also to the science of syntax. The interface of the terms with other words or word forms in discourse makes the special language more relevant to various syntactic units. The modern grammars of different trends are short of the traditional types of the two usual syntactic units (a word form and a sentence). Linguist Axel Holvoet sugested the three types of the syntactic units: nominalizations, non-finite clauses and finite clauses. In this article the seven types of the syntactic units are introduced: 1 Word forms viewing syntagmatically, 2) non-nominal compounds, 3) nominal compounds (nominalisations), 4) non-finite verb constructions, 5) the finite constructions of the predicate (a clause), 6) the functional components of the predicate constructions according to the role inside the construction, 7) the compound constructions of the predicate (compound sentences). The paper discusses the peculiarity of the realization of the syntactic units that are characteristic to the special language. [From the publication]
