LTStraipsnyje išnagrinėtas pastarojo dešimtmečio Lietuvos žemės ūkio valstybinis valdymas ir savivalda, pateikiami siūlymai ir rekomendacijos. Kadangi pagrindinė valstybinio žemės ūkio valdymo funkcijų dalis pagal suteiktą kompetenciją tenka Žemės ūkio ministerijai, daugiau dėmesio skiriama šios ministerijos vykdomoms funkcijoms, administraciniam darbui ir struktūriniams ryšiams aptarti. Straipsnyje taip pat parodomas kitų svarbiausių šalies valdymo institucijų vaidmuo, vykdant valstybinį žemės ūkio valdymą. ENThis article makes a review of state governance and self-governance in agriculture and there are provided proposals and recommendations for the improvement in the system. The main institution implementing state governance in agriculture is the Ministry of Agriculture. And more consideration is made for the administration, structural relationship and function description of the Ministry of Agriculture. There are also provided the role of the other main state institutions (President office, Parliament, Prime Minister’s office) in the state governance of agriculture sector. Describing the self-governance in agriculture more consideration was made for the activities of Chamber of Agriculture as the institution responsible for selfgovernance in agriculture. From the provided material it can be concluded: 1. According to the future perspectives there is a need to separate the following three sectors as the main: the development of food sector, regional and rural development, and international integration. 2. In the development of food sector more consideration should be made for the competitiveness of final product. 3. In regional and rural development sector, which is quite broad and new, more consideration should be made for the unified system, and making of the legal, economic and institutional decisions. 4. In international integration sector there is need of the greatest importance to connect the whole spectrum of international works - pre-accession to the EU membership process, WTO negotiations for the favorable conditions, the formation of trade policy, relationship with international organizations, the coordination of bilateral and multilateral assistance. 5. There is a need for the Chamber of Agriculture to separate self-governance and representation functions. [From the publication]
