ENThe aim of this article is to present the analysis of the provided word-initial consonant clusters of the Lithuanian dialect of Puńsk on the Polish territory due to the fact that the dialect of Puńsk belongs to the Southern Aukštaitian dialect and also that it is in permanent contact with the Polish language. The word-initial consonant clusters of this dialect can differ in the quality of the elements from the Lithuanian literary language and other Lithuanian dialects. What can serve as an example is the word-initial cluster STR(V) - where the S position is occupied, apart from the obvious choices of consonants - [s], [f],by the consonant [z], which is the first element of this cluster to appear exclusively in the borrowed words and is treated in this dialect equally to the native words.
