Reprezentacinio albumo leidyba: reikšmingiausias tarpukario atvejis

LTStraipsnyje knygotyros mokslo aspektu nagrinėjamas reprezentacinis nepriklausomos Lietuvos 1918-1940 m. leidinys "Vytauto Didžiojo mirties 500 metų sukaktuvėms paminėti albumas, 1430-1930" (1933). Analizuojami knygos parengimo spaudai, gamybos ir platinimo procesai, pateikiama neskelbtų biografijos faktų apie vieną iš albumo sudarytojų - Henriką Serafiną, taip pat apžvelgiami finansiniai albumo administracijos įsipareigojimai Vytauto Didžiojo komitetui ir Švietimo ministerijai. Albumo, skirto Vytauto Didžiojo 500-osioms mirties metinėms, leidimo iniciatorius - karininkas Vladas Čekauskas. Reprezentacinis leidinys buvo spausdinamas akcinėje bendrovėje "Spindulys" - didžiausioje ir moderniausioje tarpukario Lietuvos spaustuvėje. Albumu siekta reprezentuoti Lietuvos valstybės politikos, ekonomikos, kultūros ir kitus visuomeninio gyvenimo reiškinius ir išskirti patriotines to laiko nuotaikas.Kadangi knyga buvo leidžiama Vytauto Didžiojo komitetui pritariant, dalis pelno už parduotus albumus buvo skiriama Vytauto Didžiojo muziejaus statybai. Dėl albumo administracijos įsipareigojimų remti muziejaus statybą nuolat buvo jaučiama komiteto kontrolė įvairiais su albumo leidyba susijusiais klausimais. Neturėdami verslo patirties, leidėjai susidūrė su finansinėmis problemomis. Vytauto Didžiojo komiteto siūlymai dėl įmokų muziejaus statybos reikalams ne visada atitiko albumo leidėjų galimybes. Leidėjai iš Švietimo ministerijos ėmė paskolą, kurią vėliau prašė pakeisti pašalpa arba sutiko duoti albumų už imtos paskolos sumą ir juos išdalyti mokykloms. Švietimo ministerijai nesutikus, albumo administracija 1936-1939 m. mokėjo paskolos įmokas. Leidinys buvo platinamas prenumeratos būdu ir išsimokėtinai. Parduodant albumą išsimokėtinai, pinigai Vytauto Didžiojo komitetui buvo pervedami pavėluotai.Albumas buvo prenumeruojamas ne tik Lietuvoje, bet ir JAV. Prenumeruojant albumą, pasitaikydavo įvairių nesklandumų. Leidinys negalėdavo pasiekti adresato, kai valstybės tarnautojai jau būdavo atleisti iš pareigų arba pakeitę gyvenamąją vietą. Kartais pinigai už albumą, matyt, dėl informacijos stokos buvo pervedami ne tam adresatui. Pasitaikydavo atvejų, kai apsimetę albumo platinimo agentais pinigus iš patiklių pirkėjų išviliodavo įvairūs knygų prekeiviai. Albumo kaina priklausė nuo jo įrišimui panaudotų medžiagų. Keletą albumo įrišimo projektų buvo pateikęs knygrišys Zigmas Malašauskas. Informacija apie albumą buvo skelbiama to meto periodiniuose leidiniuose, albumo reklaminiuose lapeliuose, taip pat "Vytauto Didžiojo komiteto atliktų darbų apžvalginiame biuletenyje" Nr. 1 (1932). ENThis article analyzes the representative publication of the Independent Lithuania in 1918-1940 - "The Album in Commemoration of 500th Anniversary of the Death of Vytautas the Great, 1430-1930" (1933) (hereinafter - the album). The album is analyzed from the positions of book science. It analyses the processes of preparation for the press, production and circulation of the album, features some unpublished biographical facts of one of the album maker's - Henrikas Serafinas and reviews the financial obligations of administration of the album to Committee of Vytautas the Great and the Ministry of Education. The first to initiate the publishing is military officer Vladas Čekauskas. This exemplary publication was printed by a company "Spindulys" - the biggest and the most modern printing house in the interwar Lithuania. Photos in the album presented state politics, economics, culture and other social phenomena. Since the publishing of the album was approved by the Committee of Vytautas the Great, some part of the profit from sales was dedicated to the construction of Vytautas the Great .Museum. Because of administration's financial obligations (to support the construction of the museum), the committee's control over the process of publishing was constantly felt. Due to the lack of business experience, publishers faced financial difficulties. The financial demands of the Committee of Vytautas the Great regarding the museum's construction did not always correspond to the possibilities of the publishers. Publishers had to take a loan from the Ministry of Education. However, soon after they asked to change it to the grant or agreed to give back the amount in published albums and distribute them to schools. Nevertheless the Ministry did not agree with it. Therefore, in 1936-1939 the publishers had to pay credit installments. When the album was sold by installments, the money to the Committee of Vytautas the Great was transferred with a delay. The album had been subscribed not only in Lithuania, but also in the USA.There were various problems related to the subscription of the album. The publication could not reach the addressee when the public servants were already dismissed or changed their place of residence. Sometimes the money for the album were transferred to the wrong addressee, apparently due to the lack of information.There have been cases when the money was lured from the trustful buyers by fake book dealers.The price of the album depended on the materials used for its binding. Several bookbinding projects were presented by a bookbinder Zigmas Malašauskas.The information about the album was published in at that time released periodicals, promotional leaflets, as well as in "The Review Bulletin of Works by the Committee of Vytautas the Great" No. 1 (1932).
