Antano Vaičiulaičio legendų pasakojimo strategija : fantastinio ir realistinio elementų dermė

LTAntano Vaičiulaičio rinkinys „Gluosnių daina“, išleistas Bostone 1966 metais, papildo lietuviškąją padavimo ir legendos žanrų tradiciją, kuri tiek ir Nepriklausomybės laikotarpio, tiek ir egzilio literatūriniame kontekste yra gana įvairi bei gausi. Šios knygos stilistika, teminė įvairovė, pasakojimo konstravimas yra kartais artimesni legendos, kartais pasakos žanrui. Autorius gretina lietuviškosios kasdieninės realybės ir sakraliąją dimensijas, istorinių realijų nedetalizuoja, neturi tikslo kurti išsamios asmens, vietovės ar įvykio legendos. Legendiškoji stilistika, leidžianti sujungti kelias plotmes, poetizuoti tikrovę, atskleisti prieštaras šioje knygoje tampa pagrindiniu vaizdavimo principu. Todėl straipsnyje laikomasi nuostatos aptariamuosius tekstus vadinti legendomis. Vaičiulaičio legendų tematika labai įvairi: religinis motyvas prisiliečia prie biblinio epizodo, patriotinė tema išreikšta per žvejų krašto dukters Banguolės istoriją ar supoetintą partizanų žygio įprasminimą, istorinis motyvas nukelia į Vytauto Didžiojo valdymo laikus, dar kiti pasakojimai tiesiog poetina, universalina kasdienybę. Miniatiūrose autorius lakoniškas, jam svarbiausia ne papasakoti istoriją, bet nubrėžti žmogaus gyvenimo ar kažkurios nedidelės jo atkarpos štrichus, perteikti nuotaiką, kuri simbolizuoja to momento ir jo reikšmės likusiai gyvenimo daliai svarbą. Pasaulis Vaičiulaičio legendose piešiamas gana skaidriomis spalvomis, jo kuriamas žmogus yra neatsiejamai sutapęs su aplinka. ENThe collection “Gluosnių daina” (Eng. The Song of the Willows), published in Boston in 1966, adds to the Lithuanian tradition of the genre of a story and legend, already rather varied and rich both during the period of independence and among the exile literature. The style, variety of topics, story construction is in some cases closer to the genre of a legend, or to that of fairytales. The author collates the daily Lithuanian reality and the sacred dimension, he does not elaborate on historical realia, nor does he aim at creating a detailed legend of a person, a place or an event. The legend-like style, allowing merging several dimensions, poetizing the reality, and revealing the contradiction, becomes the main principle of portrayal in the book. Therefore, the discussed texts are referred to as legends. The topics of the legends vary greatly: a religious motive touches upon a Biblical episode; patriotic theme is expressed through the story of Banguolė the daughter of a land of fishermen or through a poetized partisan action; an historical motive takes us to the times of the rule of Vytautas Magnus; other stories simply poetize and universalize reality. In miniatures the author is laconic, taking not telling the story but drawing the main lines in a person’s life or a small period in it, conveying the mood symbolizing the importance of the moment and its meaning for the rest of the life as the most important goal. The world in the legends by A. Vaičiulaitis is drawn in rather bright colours, a person he creates in inseparably connected to the environment. A. Vaičiulaitis enriched and broadened the tradition of a Lithuanian legend with valuable and new works of the genre.
