Benefits of cooperation between simulation and business companies
Summary / Abstract:

ENIn Lithuania, the Simulation Company (SC) model is flexibly adapted to various educational institutions, taking into account the needs of specific target groups, objectives and available opportunities to create an appropriate business environment. These companies involve a social partner, a real business enterprise working in the same or similar field as SC. It is important for SC to maintain direct partnerships with real businesses, but this cooperation is not well widespread and not active enough, as both parties do not see the benefits of mutual cooperation. The aim of the research is to identify the benefits of SC and business cooperation; identify attainable collaborative activities between Simulation Companies and real businesses and to explore the usefulness of SC practitioners for a real businesses. Methods used in the research: analysis of scientific literature, written survey, statistical analysis of research data. Using questionnaires prepared by the authors, a survey of respondents was conducted for individual business representatives and SC managers. During the survey, an electronic survey questionnaire was created and an invitation to participate was sent. 84 business representatives from various fields of activity and 39 SC managers from three levels of educational institutions participated in the study. The results of the survey showed that Lithuanian SC managers positively appreciate cooperation with business enterprises and notes that businesses can be a benefit in providing practice placement for SC trainees, providing consultations, giving presentations about company activities, organizing various trainings and seminars, providing traineeships for SC managers. In the opinion of real business executives, cooperation with simulation companies is beneficial in the following areas: the opportunity to advertise the company, the opportunity to promote and publicize the name of the company on the websites of the founders of SC, the opportunity to find a specialist with practical experience. SC trainees can benefit businesses by distributing company advertising on social networks; helping to organize corporate events; preparation of company advertising; helping to organize and conduct market surveys and presentations about the company, but this opportunity utilization is very limited. Business representatives that have cooperation experience with Simulation Companies already engage in help from SC trainees, but cooperation in this area is underdeveloped. It can be said that business cooperation and assistance to SCs are minimal but highly appreciated. [From the publication]
