ENLithuanian economic, political and social development should be assessed from the historical retrospective because Lithuania regained its independence in 1990 when the Soviet Union collapsed and the democratisation process of the Soviet and communist countries was carried out. The entire chapter will be analysed on the basis of the comparative analysis principle using statistics. The entire economic, political and social development period of independent Lithuania may be divided into the following three periods: 1) transition to market economy – privatisation (1990-1995); 2) pre-integration period into the EU and NATO (1995-2004); 3) integration into the EU and NATO (2004-2018). This work will include a discussion of all the three stages by highlighting their peculiarities in all three areas and revealing features of development in each of them. [lvb.lt]
