Nacionalinės bibliotekos svetainė "Proveniencijos"

LTKnygotyrininkams, bibliotekininkams knyga, ypač senoji, dažnai asocijuojasi su vienokiais ar kitokiais nuosavybės ženklais. Poreikis pažymėti savo knygas atsirado tikriausiai vienu metu su pačiomis knygomis - tiek rankraštinėmis, tiek ir spausdintomis, ir nenuostabu - XV-XVIII a. knygos buvo labai brangios, ne kiekvienas jų galėjo įsigyti, todėl įsigytąsias saugojo kaip ir kitą kilnojamąjį turtą, palikdami jose savo ženklus. Tokie knygų ženklai mokslinėje literatūroje apibendrintai vadinami proveniencijomis. [...] Knygotyroje žinoma nemažai būdų knygos priklausomybei pažymėti. Dažniausiai aptinkami knygų ženklai - rankraštiniai įrašai, antspaudai, ekslibrisai ir superekslibrisai. Be šių, knygų ženklais taip pat galime laikyti ir specialias lipdės knygos viršelyje ar kitoje vietoje su jose įrašytomis signatūromis (knygų numeriais, jų vieta spintoje ar lentynoje ir pan.), savininkų herbus ar inicialus, įspaustus senųjų leidinių viršeliuose ar išgraviruotus knygų apkaustuose ar užsegimuose, ir kitokius ženklus, nurodančius knygos savininką. Taigi knygų ženklai turėjo užtikrinti knygos apsaugą, patvirtindami jos nuosavybės teises, o kartais turėjo ir dekoratyvinę paskirtį. Sukurti internetinę Nacionalinės bibliotekos svetainę "Proveniencijos" paskatino keletas priežasčių. Kaip ir kitose šalyse Lietuvoje domėjimasis knygos priklausomybės ženklais, ypač istoriniais, jų tyrinėjimai, pradėti dar prieškariu, paskutiniais dešimtmečiais ypač suintensyvėjo, parengta nemažai publikacijų (išsami tyrinėjimų apžvalga pateikta Jolitos Steponaitienės straipsnyje (2002).knygos ženklų tyrinėjimus tęsia Alma Braziūnienė, Domas Kaunas, Arvydas Pacevičius, kiti tyrėjai), rengiamos konferencijos. Lietuvos nacionalinė Martyno Mažvydo biblioteka, savo fonduose kaupdama ir saugodama nacionalinį dokumentinį kultūros paveldą, gali svariai prisidėti prie šių tyrinėjimų - bibliotekos knygose gausu ekslibrisų ir antspaudų, proveniencinių, memorialinių, dedikacinių ir kitokių įrašų, suteikiančių žinių apie asmenis ir institucijas, praeityje sukaupusias šias bibliotekas. Vis dėlto tenka pasakyti, kad iki šiol nedaug domėtasi Nacionalinės bibliotekos knygose esančiais ženklais, ši įdomi tema tikrai dar neišsemta. Minėtinos svarbiausios publikacijos. [...]. ENThe term proveniency (Lat. provenio - rise, occur) is called a book ownership mark - ex libris, supralibros, wafer, seal, handwritten inscription or any other mark, which allows to establish the book ownership - the libraries of institutions, organizations or private libraries. The article presents the website Document Proveniencies of Lithuanian National Library created in 2009 by the department of Rare Books and Manuscripts of Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania. Its aim is through visual, graphic and textual means to reveal rich and informative part of cultural heritage - the marks of ownership of documents/books, which are preserved in the library. Several reasons inspired to create the website. Firstly, the increased attention to the research of book ownership marks in book science of Lithuania and foreign countries. By accumulating and preserving in its funds national document culture heritage, National Library can significantly contribute to these studies, as in the books of the library there are a lot of proveniencies. This source has not been sufficiently enough investigated for the research and reconstruction of bookplates, the history of libraries. The researchers Jolita Steponaitienė, Juozas Tumelis, Arvydas Pacevičius, Darius Antanavičius and others are worth to be mentioned. The lack of information hinders the research: the absence of detailed descriptions of proveniencies in the library's inventory books and catalogues as well as the absence of card index or lists. Historical circumstances (World War I and World War II, Soviet occupation) conditioned the specificity of development of the library's document fund. One of the sources of fund collecting was the overtaking of unattended, nationalized, closed or liquidated institutions and private libraries and archives.Unfortunately, books were usually distributed among the library's departments or even among several Lithuanian libraries, the necessity of registering of proveniencies was not properly understood, and sometimes proveniencies were deliberately concealed, fearing for the request to return the documents in case their former owners would appear. The participation in the project initiated by Osnabrück University (Germany), creating a virtual catalogue of the libraries of the region of Königsberg, inspired to create the website as well. Proveniencies website is an attractive tool to implement one of the aims of National Library activities, i.e. to actualize, ensure the dissemination of the heritage preserved in the library, to promote society to seek new knowledge, to develop society's cultural competence, etc. The website consists of three main parts: the proveniencies of National Library, personal proveniencies, and the proveniencies of institutions and organizations. The information is presented in alphabetical order by the surnames of the owners or the names of institutions. The images of bookplates are presented, a person or institution is briefly introduced, the library they used to have, several most important reference sources are provided. In the website, the ownership marks are provided firstly of those institutions or persons, whose books are mostly included in National Library. It is foreseen to eventually register all ownership signs, which will be found in the books preserved in National Library. It is possible to see de visu a concrete bookplate after arriving at the library and ordering a publication by using electronic catalogue according to a former owner's surname or book title.
