ENThe second part of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century was the time of the creation of nations in the land of the former Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Polish, Lithuanian and Belarusian people had to define their own identity. After World War I new nation states were created. The modem Lithuanian state became a home for people with the Polish culture and language.
