ENThis paper aims to present Samuel Bogusław Chyliński and first Bible translation into Lithuanian, which had to wait few hundred years to be acknowledged. First part shows short author's biography, birth of translation idea as well as grounds for its growth in early XVII century. Furthermore it briefly introduces early life of the author, his school years, adulthood and - on top of that - the turbulent history of translation. Second part focuses on technical aspects of translation; tries to answer questions regarding source materials S. B. Chyliński was using. Also it strives to characterize shortly his masterpiece and to present all known translations copies. [From the publication]
