Motina Žemyna baltų deivių kontekste : II dalis: lietuvių Krūminė, Javinė, Dirvolira, Gabija, Ponikė, Medeina ir Žvorūna, Ragana, Veliuona (latvių Veļu māte), Giltinė

LTStraipsnyje apžvelgiamos ryškesnės baltų deivės, visų pirma tos, kurios artimesnės Žemynai ar daugiau mažiau susijusios su chtonine mitinio universumo sritimi. Skirta dėmesio ne tik su žemdirbyste, žemės ir žmogaus vaisingumu, jo būties ciklais susijusioms deivėms, bet ir namų aplinkos, jų židinio dievybėms, laukinės gamtos, miško, žvėrių ir galiausiai mirties bei požeminio, pomirtinio pasaulio šeimininkėms. Tai – būdingos chtoninių ir Deivės motinos kategorijai priklausančių deivių viešpatavimo sritys. Žemyna laikytina viena svarbiausiųjų baltų moteriškų mitinių būtybių. Ji reprezentuoja deivės tipą, apjungianti chtoniškąsias ir motiniškąsias Deivės ypatybes, kurių sintezę geriausiai atspindi pats dievybės vardas Motina Žemyna. Latvių mitologijoje deivės tokiu vardu nepaliudyta. Lietuvių Žemyna čia atstoja Zemes māte, kuri latvių mitologijoje yra viena iš daugybės mitinių Motinų ir, kaip manoma, kažkada galėjo atlikti Deivės motinos vaidmenį. Nors Žemyna paliudyta gana vėlyvų baltų mitologijos šaltinių (daugiausia XVI-XVII a.), tačiau Dievų motinos, kuri tapatinama su Žemyna, figūravimas I a. istoriniame šaltinyje leidžia tvirtinti, kad žemės deivė, kaip motina, baltams buvo žinoma jau I šimtmetyje. Chtoniškieji ir/ar Deivės motinos, kaip tam tikro dievybės tipo, bruožai įžvelgiami ir kitose baltų deivėse, vienose raiškiau, kitose blankiau. ENThe article reviews the more significant Baltic goddess, first of all those which are closer to goddess Žemyna, or which are more or less related to the chtonious area of mythological entirety. The attention is given not only to the goddess related to agriculture, human and earth fecundity, and its being cycle, but also to the gods of house and home, to the owners of wild nature, forest, animals and finally of death as well as underground and the another world. These are the typical domination areas of the goddesses, which belong to the category of chtonious goddess or Mother goddess. Žemyna is one of the most important Baltic feminine divinities. A type of goddess, that she represents, joins the chtonious and maternal features of the Goddess. The name Mother Žemyna is the best illustration of the synthesis of those features. Latvian mythology does not have goddess with such name. The same goddess which in Lithuanian is Žemyna, in Latvian is called Zemes māte. In Latvian mythology it is one of hundreds of mythological Mothers, and, it is believed that formerly it could appear as Mother goddess. Although Žemyna was supported in quite late sources of Baltic mythology (mostly in 16th – 17th centuries), the figure of Mother of gods, which is identified with Žemyna, in the historical references of 1st century, allows to claim that goddess of the Earth, as mother, has been known by Balts since the 1st century. The chtonious and/or Mother goddess (as some kind of divinity) features can be seen in other Baltic goddess, in some of them more expressively, in others faintly.
