ENThe study attempts at the translation analysis of twelve metaphors in the latest Lithuanian edition of M. Twain’s “Adventures of Huckleberry Finn”. Metaphors, as any figure of speech, bring ambiguity, which the translator has to decode and offer a decent equivalent in the target language. The children’s literature requires finding a specific style and vocabulary. Translation transformation is the basic translation method. The present study analyses applied transformations and the equivalents for metaphors selected in the target language. [From the publication]
