LTStraipsnyje analizuojama socialinių pedagogų rengimo patirtis Lietuvoje: realijos ir perspektyvos, studijų modernizavimo galimybės universitetinių bei neuniversitetinių studijų procese. Socialinių pedagogų rengimas traktuojamas kaip tam tikra šios srities specialistų studijų, kvalifikacijos kėlimo ir perkvalifikavimo aukštosiose mokyklose sistema. Diskutuojama apie studijų plėtrą tarpkultūrinės sintezės kontekste, apie kokybinių – reflektyvinių studijų modelių naudojimą, studentų bei dėstytojų bendradarbiavimą, siekiant optimizuoti socialinės pedagogikos studijų procesą. ENThe article analyses the experience of training social educators in Lithuania, its reality and perspectives. Social education being part of social sciences system is perceived as a science and an academic subject (or a series of subjects), as well as some kind of applied branch of education, providing a variety of social education methods and means to the teachers, and enabling to assist the learners, who are in a complicated social, educational and psychological situation. Training social educators is a comprehensive system of studies, including the in-service training and re-training of specialists of this sphere in higher educational institutions. The focus of theoretical and practical analysis of their curricula remains modernization of the contents of studies, consistency, and compatibility of subjects with general principles of higher education and our country’s legal acts. The transformation of special educational studies is determined by the qualitative – reflective methodology, ensuring the synthesis of theory and practice, a reasoned attitude toward studies, students` critical thinking, and the unity of teaching and learning. In the process of organizing social education studies, the issues of adjustment, specialization and provision of quality education on various levels of studies, depending on the current political, economic, and social development peculiarities in Lithuania as well as the country’s development in the international context, still remain debatable.
