ENThe article analyses the texture of original pieces written in 1948-2010 for concert kanklės solo, and the abilities to perform it. From the historical point of view, the paper analyses the development of the textures of the pieces for kanklÎs and dermal structure, investigates and sums up the possibilities of artistic expression of academic kanklės playing. The study concludes that the original kanklÎs repertoire has been and is being formed quite systematically, i.e. taking into account the peculiarities of the instrument and its playing development, but it is noticeable that a large number of composers could be better acquainted with the technical possibilities of academic kanklės playing.
