ENPolysemy is considered to be the deficiency of meaning when analysing the content of a term, though in some cases the avoidance of the phenomenon of polysemy is impossible. With regard to perfectly organized terminology, generally the distinguishing characteristics of a term are assigned to a single concept. When analysing the terminological dictionaries of the analysed languages, we are faced with a problem: whether presented specific characteristics relevant to the terms are equal and contain the same concept-related information in the dictionaries of the different languages, i.e. English and Lithuanian. Furthermore, the investigated data cover the polysemous terms in the field of economics that have been analysed considering some aspects: (a) when the term represents two or more meanings in regard to the concept-related information in Lithuanian and this information is compared to the term equivalent in English, and vice versa; (b) when the meaning of the term is limited in one or the other of the analysed languages. As well economic terms with a metaphorical basis were analyzed in the study. [link.springer.com]
