ENKazys Bradūnas is known as an emigre poet of the agrarian generation, and while he is most commonly associated with literature, he also nurtured an interest in the arts his whole life. In his personal life, cultural activities and published works, he dedicated a lot of attention to Lithuanian art and artists. In Chicago, he spent twenty years as editor of the "Draugas" newspapers weekly culture supplement, where he published many of his articles related to art, artists and art exhibitions. This article offers an overview of Bradūnas’ life and his connection to the emigre art world. Refugees displaced by World War II were inspired to work towards preserving Lithuanian culture already by the time they had reached DP camps. Upon becoming scattered throughout America, Canada and elsewhere, they worked towards this goal for fifty years. Through his work, publishing and public activities, Bradūnas made a weighty contribution to cultural life in diaspora. [From the publication]
