ENThe aim of this article is to present the numismatic finds from recent archaeological excavations in the Old Town of Klaipėda, Turgus sq. 12and to draw some conclusions about coin circulation in Klaipėda (former German name : Memel ) from the end of the XV th to the XX th century.A total of 74 coins dating from the end of the XV th to XX th century were found. The discovery of these coins, minted in various locations aroundEurope, suggests that from the end of the XVI th to the end of the XVII th century the majority of specimens in local circulation were of foreign origin, from the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Livonia and other regions. It was only in the XVIII th century that Prussian coins began to predominate. [From the publication]
