ENThe Summary Catalogue of Lithuanian Tatar Manuscripts has been compiled in Lithuania since 2007. Recent years have seen the discovery of even more new manuscripts, which is the reason why they can be collectively referred to as the Preliminary Summary Catalogue. It is vitally important to record and describe possibly the largest number of Lithuanian Tatar manuscripts stored in various collections in different countries. First of all, the preparation of the Preliminary Summary Catalogue required a revision of the information about the manuscripts and documents described in The Catalogue of Lithuanian Tatar Manuscripts Written in the Arabic Script by Miskiniene, Namaviciute and Pokrovskaya (Мишкинене, Намавичюте, Покровская: 2005) due to the fact that while preparing the catalogue for the year 2005, its authors did not have access to all original texts and relied on copies of some manuscripts. Secondly, they had to describe the newly found manuscripts and include them in The Catalogue. During the study visit at the University of Warsaw from 26th November to 2nd December 2007, the author of this paper worked in the Library of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at the said university where she reviewed and analysed four manuscripts. The paper is a detailed description of this collection. [From the publication]
