ENResearch of a burial ground in Vilnius has been presented at the Pskov workshop more than once. The accumulated and well-preserved bone material enables analysis of the first Orthodox community of Vilnius residents in one more paleogeographic aspect. The anthropological data from 492 burials is available and with greater accuracy (the excavations will be continued) the territory of the burial ground is set, that allows to talk about the supposed size of the community “Civitas Rutenica”. It is established that the burial was in use for about 150 years. The obtained osteological material allows to speak about the everyday life of inhabitants of the Russian end. Knowing the total number of buried and the average internal reproduction index of this population, it is possible to calculate the size of the Orthodox community. As well as one can analyze medical history of this community: which population groups were most subjected to what diseases and why. [From the publication]
