P. Leono socialinio brendimo aplinka

LTStraipsnyje pateikiamos pagrindinės aplinkybės, turėjusios įtakos Petro Leono žmonių socialinio gyvenimo stebėjimo ir vertinimo pagrindų formavimuisi jo vaikystės, paauglystės ir studijų metais. ENThe article reviews the life of P. Leonas since his birth till the finishing of the Moscow University. He was born in Lithuanian village of Leskava, the district of Marijampolė. At the beginning he learned to read at home, then he started to attend elementary school, after that secondary school, later he entered Moscow University. Since early years, P. Leonas carefully observed and evaluated the social life. He early noticed the essential social inequality between the members of society, relations of the family members with neighbours and other people. He was upset seeing the increasing driking the behavior of teachers, and school authorities. P. Leonas started reading magazine "Aušra", while being at high school he was the leader of Lithuanian student’s association. He has published his papers in Lithuanian periodicals since 1887. He helped people to learn better about their native language, to learn the history of their country. P. Leonas was distinquished for good academic achievments, sincerity and honesty. Being still young, he put good foundation as a qualified lawyer, sociologist, public activist. Petras Leonas finished his studies at Moscow University in 1889 and worked as a lawyer more than 40 years. He had an interesting career - from a Suvalkai region court employer to the Minister of Justice and Minister of Internal Affairs in Lithuanian government in 1930. He also worked as a university lecturer, professor, PhD in law, he worked for many years as a dean of Law faculty in Kaunas university. P. Leonas died in 1938. The article points out to some insufficiently studied sides of P. Leonas life and presents the recomendation for these questions. [From the publication]
